STÜKEN Shanghai celebrates opening of facility extension

The official opening ceremony of the new production hall will take place on February 27th, 2020

Shanghai, December 17th, 2019 – Deep-drawing specialist STÜKEN Shanghai is proud to announce the opening of its facility extension. The company will celebrate the occasion with an opening ceremony in February 2020. With the new building in Lingang Wanxiang City Industrial Park, STÜKEN Shanghai has more than doubled its production site.

“Everything went very smoothly and exactly to plan”, says Wolfgang Grewe, General Manager of STÜKEN Shanghai. Construction of the two-story building began in March and was completed in December. “We’ve managed to keep to the schedule. The structural work has been completed. The next stage of the project will be the completion of the interior and the installation of our production technology. Before we start this phase, we would like to take the opportunity to use the empty hall for a celebration with our customers, partners and employees.” The festivities will take place on 27th February 2020. A celebration with the company´s 105 employees will follow the next day.

The global STÜKEN group with headquarters in Rinteln, Germany, made its first steps in China in 2005 when Stueken Precision Deep Draw Technology (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. was legally founded. Dr. Hubert Schmidt, CEO of the STÜKEN group, explains that production started about a year later - in a rented hall. “The increasing demand for high precision deep-drawn parts soon called for a larger production site. In 2011, STÜKEN Shanghai moved into its own, newly built facility about 20 minutes south of Pudong airport. Despite the currently difficult economic situation, we expect a significant further growth in turnover and we have many new projects in the pipeline. The facility extension takes account of this pleasant development.”

“The new building accommodates a tool shop, a warehouse and, of course, the production of deep-drawn components.” says Wolfgang Grewe. “Quality management as well as our testing equipment will move to the top floor with its very clean conditions. State-of-the-art conveyor systems at both sides of the building will support the optimum material flow and high space utilization that are part of the high-tech concept.”
